A MISSING REAL

The whole generation of Argentineans has succumbed to the military during dictatorship that shadowed our country in the decade of ‘70and the beginning of ‘80. It was a terrible process that we still remember with sadness. It was called the "dirty war", because it has been desappeared about 30.000 people. Those who were kidnapped and afterwards tortured, nearly their death, they were named Los Desaparecidos (1).

In this text, my objective is to present an hypothesis about some consequences in psychoanalysis and about the traumatic effects. Those have been produced in the subjectivity and in the social bow. On the other hand, and as a mater of fact, we realise that it´s very difficult to accept living with a history of missing people, and it is a very hard reality to do a psychical working over. This outcomes influenced me to see a kind of edge that comes from this question and that has changed the shape of psychoanalysis into a theme unfinished.

On the otrer hand, we check up that when Jacques Lacan´s works were introduced in The Argentine, they began to have an expansion, and this has coincided with that tragic period. Beyond my gratitude to psychoanalysts who started to translate him, and deliberately have done travels in order to have an interviews with him, for announcing him that the original transcription of his unpublished Séminaires have spread a love of reading in our country. They also expressed to him that even he wasn´t present between us, his letter retrives value. And this letter also retrives importance in the cure´s direction, where Lacan has proposed the subject of the subvertion in relation to the function of the being in the language, and with this absence the psychoanalysts holded up a function in his Act.

I must say that we don´t have in mind the real of transference, which becomes the support of psychoanalytique´s transmission, since it has emerged from this French thinker who has introduced the unconscious as a structure, in a returning to Freud. This point has an advantage, and a scarcity in the imaginary, and both of them gave us the importance that it is found it in the hole of the symbolic, and then, there are some complications that they arise in the axiom of the symbolic, because the real would be never recovered.

Then the advantage will be the impact directly of the letter´s request, and we can read it in the moss of the walls. In this way, who wants to personify the Great Master’s position, he wouldn´t stay so much time without falling down, because the letter wasn´t from his authorship, and we can read all that he has said in Jacques Lacan´s Séminaires and Ecrits: a selection.

The scarcity, to which I´m refering, became from the inexistence of One in the transmission of psychoanalisys, and with idea that pychoanalyst´s series exists. And those one, to whom I feel a recognition, but I also recognise thoseone who doesn´t nourrish the One, as exception. So, the physically abscence of Lacan, it showed us that in spite of his absence, his words have envelopped us intensely during the transmission of his plays, such as those one: "it isn’t that", "the system is anotherone", "it isn´t necessary my presence as thoseone like it was Plato´s Menan claiming something to Gorgias".

In some points of reference, the father´s question is in relation to the psychoanalysis transmission, and this point has not to much weight, because the imaginativeness wasn´t found, as well as the inhibition under the style of a nomination, but if people only reed that the law exists, coming from the reader side only, then, it would be only an exercise coming in the way of the author´s enunciation.

About the psychoanalysis that concerns me, I think that the transmission in the Argentine was determined by this sort of scarcity in the One of exception, and the consequences were a desarticulation between the enjoying phallic and unconscius, that put the obstacles in the way, and that afterwards, they were followed by a possible appearance.

All procedure from the oedipic´s identification requires by the psychoanalysts not only a reading as they do when his plays are translated literally, like in the transmission, nearly to reach an enjoying phallic, as it could be with the writting of this thinker. Along a decade, in my country, the word absence has implicated a kind of a direct association with the physical missing, as I said before, with no law resort. About the missing people we can only say: "it´s that". And there, it will become a stagnant in the progression of enjoying phallic.

I want to say that lacanian axiom has been traced by a letter as littoral between the knowledge and the enjoing, and it didn´ t pay no attention to the enjoing, in a moment, that it was suspended by a scansion with the letter. And here, I´m refering to the enjoing that was suspended, and that it must be buried with the body dead, like the one that it was set up and if we accepted all that, then the enjoing phallic would be unavoidable.

But if this enjoing can´t be buried in the way of a hunging up, it would become an eternally needing of the law, because it doesn´t find the psychoanalyst as a partenaire-witness, in face to the regret of existing, which is in relation to the crucial point of view, and see it that it comes from the missing and its traumatic implicance. So we could say that the lacanian concept of the desubjetivation has been superposed with the missing and with my difficulty to support the fall down of the being was that traumatic superposition. There, he seems to tell us: ¨That now, if there are matters as to go through the fantasy, and there we must added that in The Argentine, the results in the faculty of the speech has been produced by the untransferable in the social with the real of the missing people. Beyond someones who saved them from this fallacy, we can see that they do symptomes with this problematic, because we have been victimes, or we have seen them to be victimes.

About those aspects, the risk of the symbolic excess could be an endless leeway by a letter that, even it makes an irruption, find no instinct diminution in the passing away from life to death.

The gorgian maxim says that if something exists and it is thinkable, so it woudn´t be communicable. It´s important to distinguish, when the pain appears, the psychoanalyst from the sophist, and what happens in the main moment of the impossible transaction, placed in the subjectivity, and located among the significants in relation with life. Then, the psychoanalyts pain doesn’t communicate in the social boad that had started from his writing and went through the symptom, because there is an identification between the pshychoanalyst and de disappearance itself.

If the psychoanalysts quickly agree that the symbolic that doesn´t cover the real, we find some complications. And we have certain reasons here that will be produced by this problem, such as our understanding that is similar to a resignation which implicates a real. This reality becomes unreachable like everything and in spite of doing a touch of the real coming from the symbolic, it would be a sign of that no subject belongs a real common. Also, it can be, that exists a belief of that when it is aborted the whole unconscious and if the symbolic doesn´ t covered the real, so the point that we would see, would be an arriving of the nothing, like a tabula rasa, table-levelness. There we suppose a stop to the pain that exists and also is a happy end. Then, the pain will mean to take the real that if it belongs to us, coming from each step in the structure, and if it is put it across the pain, all this points will be entered into the rope of the symbolic. Finally, we can affirm that the pain arrives to the evidence, each time, of a false step coming without a thruth.

It´s important to say, that the function of language´s effect is the Einziger Zug, trait unaire. With this traumatism, printed in the unconscious subject, we see the elision of the being in a place of One. That would mean something like saying: "I am". To say I am is possible in the case of the One’s camp remaind elided. And there is a sort of fusion between the being and the One, because the elision provoked by the law which indicates an exception from the propose of this One, failed. Then we find a land where the whole being can arrive in the unconscious because the One sends him to the significant. In this way everything could be unconscious when there is a meeting to avoid that the real and the unconscious had included the heaven or the believes, and them become possible to annule the barrier épistémo-somatique.

As a result of all that I could argue: The unfinishable of the psychoanalysis wasn´t get any isolation of the cronology that put there a mark in the official language, even in Argentine with its confuse effects and attitudes, where people denied the symptom that could raise from traumatic effect of the disappearance, questioning the conflict of missing people. Nevertheless, the missings have not been treated carefully. The matter is not only the denounce of facts, even denounces supported in act by many psychoanalysts, and some of them belong to the series of colleagues from my acknowledgement. We are speaking about the great consequences of the violence in the language that had been installed in a speech that refuses wrigth to the symptom. Beyong that, I’m including colleagues from my closely recognition, but I think that they stayed in a particulary psychoanalysts position.

The psychoanalyst’s wish didn´t be far from the asking about missing people, nevertheless they were in front of a tremendous mark, which came from a language, imposed by the dictatorship. That terminal situation gave out every possibility of a sintomatic attitude placed in any determination of a body part. Here I want to mean that it was a heavy real to carry out the idea of disappeared bodies. This mark of the language is not only symbolic, as it was established from the begining of a great epoch in the history of the lacanien transmission in the Argentine.
